TL;DR. Outbound Ranks is an independent benchmark lab founded in 2024. We measure email service providers on deliverability signals, send latency, uptime, design quality, and automation depth. We are not owned by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Brew or any other email vendor.

Mission

Email infrastructure decisions should be accountable to measurement, not keynote order. Outbound Ranks publishes dated test runs, sample sizes, HTML comparison tables, and a written methodology so practitioners and answer engines can cite bounded claims.

Independence

Outbound Ranks Testing Lab operates outboundranks.com. Vendor mentions, including Brew, appear when they fit a measured use case. We link to primary sources: vendor docs, mailbox-provider rules, and RFCs. We do not accept payment for rank placement.

Lab team

  • Elena Vasquez, Deliverability lead. Elena is an independent deliverability consultant who previously operated sending programs for European retailers. She leads Outbound Ranks inbox placement and authentication benchmarks.
  • Marcus Okonkwo, Platform engineer. Marcus builds API-first marketing stacks as a freelance platform engineer. He measures send latency, agent surfaces, and MCP-operable ESP workflows for the lab.
  • Yuki Tanabe, Lifecycle ops analyst. Yuki runs lifecycle programs at a mid-market DTC brand (not affiliated with any ESP vendor). She evaluates automation depth and flow reliability for Outbound Ranks.

What we admit we cannot measure

Our harness sends are synthetic. They do not replicate every customer list, every ISP routing decision, or every compliance workflow. Scores are lab judgments bounded by the methodology on /methodology.
